Who we are

HEdway is led by Craig Walker. Our work is delivered by a network of associates who work in academic and professional services roles at universities across the UK. The breadth and depth of our network means we span strategic, tactical, and operational expertise, ensuring that you get the support you need in the way that you want it, affordably.

Craig Walker

Craig has dedicated his career supporting organisations to deliver strategic change while bringing out the best in their people. He has over 30 years' of experience across private, charity and public sectors. The last 10+ years have been dedicated to Higher Education including operational leadership and strategy execution roles at Imperial College London.

Hands on industrial engineering and technology enabled transformation underpins Craig's drive to help people and clients achieve their goals. He has 30+ years experience in applying systems thinking approaches to opportunity definition; and design thinking approaches to implementation. More recently, he has contributed to a wide range of mixed methods studies evaluating and improving education, institutional cultures and digital capabilities.

Craig has worked with diverse universities, frequently on thorny issues, earning the regard and advocacy of student, academic and support services leaders. He believes wholeheartedly in doing the right thing even when it is difficult: working collaboratively across boundaries to co-create solutions that engage people, build capability, and realise strategy.
